Dwane Casey To Coach Raptors
The Toronto Raptors have reached an agreement in principle to hire Dallas Mavericks assistant Dwane Casey as their new coach. No real surprise here anytime you win a championship the assistant coaches are quickly scooped up (see: Celtics, Patriots, ect). Casey is known for his defensive mind, which we have all noticed is the rave in the NBA right now.
Casey is going to have a tough time in Toronto. It is tough to get players to player there and is a growing problem in the NBA. Unless you have a great draft you're screwed, which is going to be on of the concerns going into the next CBA agreement. One of the solutions they are looking at is a franchise tag, but I doubt the players will ever allow that.
