Good Thing The Patriots Cut Ty Warren

"An MRI has revealed that Denver Broncos defensive tackle Ty Warren has suffered a tear in his triceps muscle. Though such an injury is generally viewed as season-ending, the Broncos are debating their options and have not given up hope that the veteran could play at some point in 2011 (ESPN)."

Wow, that really sucks for the Broncos as Warren really was one of their biggest pickups. I was surprised when the Patriots cut him, but I guess it freed up some money, and the Patriots were concerned about how he would bounce back from being out all last year. Anyways, it was a good thing the Patriots didn't keep him as that would've been a lot of dead money sitting around with him on the IR.

Around The NFL

Ronnie Brown joined the dream team for a 1 year deal.

Ronnie is a perfect complement to Leshon McCoy, Ronnie has been outstanding for the 1st half of the year and then fizzles out. So maybe backing up McCoy for the tough yards, will make things easier for Brown/ Vick and McCoy. They could also throw in some trick plays as well.

Zach Miller to the Seahawks.

A source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter it is a five-year, $34 million deal with $17 million guaranteed. Miller will be a great safety blanket for whoever the Seahwaks QB is. But I don't know why the Raiders had this guy slip through their fingers. Jason Campbell just lost a huge target.

Ty Warren joins Broncos

Apparently he wasn't interested in re-signing with the Patriots. The Broncos signed Ty to a 2 year, 10 million dollar deal. This is a good deal for a bad defensive front. Low risk.

David Harris re-signs a 4 year deal with the Jets

This is a smart move for the Jets because at the end of the day, Harris could be their best defender.

Tommie Harris signs with Colts
Great move here, the Colts defense is as soft as a pillow, Harris brings some toughness to a finesse defense.

Patriots Cut Ty Warren (UPDATED)

"The Patriots made a series of moves Friday afternoon, including officially signing wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, as well as the release of linebacker Tully Banta-Cain, cornerback Tony Carter, tight end Alge Crumpler, tackle Nick Kaczur, defensive lineman Marcus Stroud, defensive lineman Ty Warren and rookie free agent Ryan Coulson. In addition, the officially announced the signings of third-round pick Ryan Mallett and fifth-round pick Marcus Cannon (WEEI)."

Really surprised that they cut Warren. I guess that he is washed up, or at the very least hasn't rebounded from his injuries fast enough. It does make me a little concerned, as Haynesworth better work out now. I know we got by without Warren last year, but I was expecting that he could be a force this year.

***UPDATE***

There are rumors the Patriots will bring him back under a reworked deal.
