GO TEAM TWO SHOES!
My old buddy Sean Scott of Tarofish Animation is quite famous for developing hit properties. He was one of the founding artists at Collideascope in Nova Scotia back in the mid 90's. Here he developed a show called "Ollie's Under the Bed Adventures". He was the dude who developed that studio as an animation power before moving on in the early turn of the century to greener pastures.
Sean (check out his blog yo!)then smashed the boarder to a new province and this is where he developed the neat little cartoon "Doodlez" that had great promise. This was with Cellar Door Productions in PEI; it did quite well indeed. (I remember supplying all the sound effects for the pilot!!! - where's my cheque!? ahahha.. jokin I gladly volunteered the library!)
Now Sean is in Montreal Quebec, (bypassing New Brunswick and Newfoundland all together, SHAME ON YOU!!!) he's going nuts I imagine. He's quite the dude and we don't keep in touch as often as I'd like.
Sean Scott is a television creative genius and is going to be quite famous I'd imagine. He knows the secret to making a great cartooon show and it's just a matter of time before one takes off for him.
Wait! this just in!!!
signed an agreement to develop two games based on the upcoming animated
kids television series JIMMY TWO SHOES, to be broadcast on Teletoon
Canada and Jetix Europe.
In the show, Jimmy is an enthusiastic 14-year-old kid who, through a
series of missteps, falls into the weird world of Miseryville, where
everything is designed to inflict torment on its inhabitants. Always
irrepressible, Jimmy stirs up the fun in his new bizarre home, much to
the chagrin of Miseryville's Big Cheese -- Lucius Heinous the Seventh.
As part of the agreement, SilverBirch Studios will develop one mobile
game, which will be distributed through Swedish-based Global Fun, and
one online Flash game that will be housed on the official website at
Teletoon.com. Both games will concurrently launch when the JIMMY TWO
SHOES series debuts in early 2009.
The JIMMY TWO SHOES interactive project (both mobile and online) has
been funded through the Telefilm Canada New Media Fund and the Bell
Broadcast and New Media Fund.

ANIMATION COLLECTIVE VISIT
Back in late November early December 2007 we had a visit from our partners in NYC. The folks from Animation Collective are quite a hoot! Pictured above is Andi DeFur - head of production, Daniel Theriault (Fatkat Producer), Amy Feldman (Animation Collective Producer). Below we have Big Show, 3 Delivery Director Andy Coyle and Art Director Alan Foreman.
Of course where there are laughs with booze in it, you can expect Mick. Generating lots of giggles and bits while shooting pool at Dooly's, it looks like these gals and guys had a good time!
Our head of production here at Fatkat (blue shirt), Doug Little showed up for some laughs as well.
Looks like Alan scratched on the 8 or something here. Dont' fret my pet!
Ah yes, creative minds. I love it how Andy looks like he's choosing ripe fruit at a grocery store in as Alan scorns him for not eating all his veggies.
Yar! The Yassir Arafat nose lives!
These folks are great. Their studio is very much like ours, man I love working with people who understand animation, how it should look, work, everything. I love these guys.
Daniel loves them too, enough to do his "stereo terrio dance ala king".
Rock on folks,
gene.
PS: Thanks to Big Show for taking the snaps!

So that pretty much sums it up! We've had a pretty good 2007 here at Fatkat. Lots of ups and downs as is the norm in this industry. We've completed some great projects, worked with some great people and got paid on time!
Let's hope in 2008 we get to spend more time outside the studio. Animation is cool work, but let's aim at getting our work done and getting out he door so we can enjoy the other side of life! We all work too much, the French have it down pat!
Coming up in 2008; a continuation on 3 Delivery, our biggest, brightest and most challenging project yet. A fourth season of Sprays! Pilots for Teletoon and we're only in our first week of January!
Rock on Everyone,
Gene.
