Good cop bad cop, Second Lieutenant Andy Coyle and First mate Louis St.Pierre arrived at Fatkat yesterday unannounced. Lieutenant Coyle marched around shadowing nervous suspects while Officer St.Pierre followed behind passing out cookies to make up for the shaking boots.
It takes some real kahoonies to barge in past security at Fatkat. It takes even Bigger Kahoonies to shave your beard and moustache into that ridiculous spectacle on Coyle's head.
My good buddy Rod Amador is officially back at Fatkat. It's great to have such a talented artist and awesome buddy back in the mix. Rod has been in Ottawa for the past 3 years and will continue to work there for the time being (searching for a house in the Miramichi) on storyboards for our new show "3 Delivery".
When Rod walked in he was pleased to see another old friend in Tavis Silbernagel. Who's one of our many awesome Lead Animators. Tavis, Rod, Jeremy and I worked at Trainingscape back at the turn of the century. I don't have any pictures of Jeremy handy so...

Big props to Fatkat Dan Helle and his pals for organizing a great event for the Miramichi Chapter of the SPCA. I know it was weeks ago, but I've been busy fighting the good fight!
Dan and all the artist's who contributed raised a whopping $1,400.00 from the event (that's $32,000.00 American!) It's excellent, and definitley something I hope Dan organizes next year as well.

There are some new faces in place following the recent restructuring at Corus Entertainment -- which has replaced ousted YTV commissioning editor Bonita Siegel with Jocelyn Hamilton, the newly minted VP of content for Corus Kids Television.
Hamilton, previously VP of creative development, will now supervise content for Treehouse, YTV and Discovery Kids Canada as well as Nelvana Studios, says Corus. Hamilton will report to Scott Dyer, EVP of Corus Kids.
David Wiebe now fills the newly created job of director of content at YTV. He previously served as the Nelvana Studios development exec for Teletoon. Meanwhile, Jamie Piekarz is in the new position of director of content for Treehouse and Discovery Kids Canada. Piekarz leaves her role as exec producer for Treehouse.
These new positions are meant to "provide a single entry point for content for our broadcast brands," according to a Corus spokesperson.
John Rooney will continue as director of programming, YTV; Brenda Nietupski is still director of programming, Treehouse and Discovery Kids Canada; and Amy Sutton will continue as manager, acquisitions and administration.
Last month Corus cut 53 jobs -- including those of Siegel and MC exec Shelley Gillen -- and closed its Movie Central office in Vancouver.

GO SPACE KNIGHTS GO! FATKAT’s “SPACE KNIGHTS” green-lit for The Detour on TELETOON Pilot Project.
Toronto, ON and Miramichi, NB – Viewers will be tuning in to TELETOON for the fall ‘08 debut of Fatkat Inc.’s SPACE KNIGHTS, as a part of The Detour on TELETOON Pilot Project. A recent initiative of TELETOON, The Pilot Project invites producers to submit new, no-holds-barred comedy to be broadcast on The Detour on TELETOON, the network’s popular teen/adult orientated programming block.
Created by FATKAT, SPACE KNIGHTS is an animated parody of super hero cartoons of the late 90’s. The SPACE KNIGHTS are a group of slightly outdated superheroes who drive Honda accords that when linked together, can transform into a variety of giant robots, from a pterodactyl, to a giant T-Rex, to a saber tooth tiger. They use these and other powers to stop a never ending stream of bizarre creatures and insane villains. The irreverent comedy follows the misshapen adventures of the crime-fighting team who must battle bickering and in-fighting almost as much as the external foes they face.
“FATKAT is thrilled to be working with TELETOON” says Andrew Dunn - FATKAT’s VP of Business Development. “We look forward to finding SPACE KNIGHTS home on The Detour. We are so glad to be working with such a great Canadian company” Dunn added.
FATKAT is heading to MIPCOM this year with a lot of steam behind the project and hopes to attract more worldwide interest its properties.
